Las Vegas – A quiet suburban street turned tragic Monday night when gunfire claimed the lives of a woman in her 20s and a young toddler inside a vehicle in the south valley.[1][2]

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers conducted an unrelated traffic stop near South Dean Martin Drive and West Starr Avenue around 9 p.m. on March 2. Gunshots echoed through the area, prompting the officers to respond immediately. They arrived at the 11000 block of Victoria Medici Street and discovered an SUV riddled with bullet holes.[1]
Inside the vehicle, responders found the woman and toddler, both struck by gunfire. Medical personnel transported them to University Medical Center, where staff pronounced them dead. The sudden violence shocked those on the scene, marking the incident as a double homicide.[2]

Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Robert Price addressed reporters at the scene. He revealed that investigators believe the victims knew each other but clarified they were not mother and child. Authorities withheld the victims’ identities pending family notification.[1]
