Las Vegas – Runners from across the country will soon commandeer the city’s famed Strip and downtown arteries for the annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series events.[1]
Saturday’s 5K Energizes Downtown Streets
The festivities kick off Saturday with a 5K race starting at 5 p.m. from 4th Street and Bridger Avenue in downtown Las Vegas. Participants will finish under the lights of Fremont Street, drawing crowds to the vibrant area.[2][1]
Road closures begin as early as 4 p.m. to accommodate the event. Las Vegas Boulevard southbound will shut between Ogden and Bridger avenues from 4 to 6:45 p.m., while Bridger Avenue closes fully between 4th Street and Las Vegas Boulevard during that window. Both directions of Las Vegas Boulevard between Ogden and Bridger will remain closed until 8 p.m. Additional blocks on northbound Las Vegas Boulevard from Hoover to Bridger and Garces Avenue between Las Vegas Boulevard and 11th Street will affect traffic from 4 to 7 p.m.[1]
- Carson Avenue closes both directions between Las Vegas Boulevard and Maryland Parkway from 4 to 7:15 p.m.
- Maryland Parkway shuts both ways between Carson and Fremont streets during the same period.
- Fremont Street closes both directions between Maryland Parkway and Las Vegas Boulevard from 4 to 7:30 p.m.
