LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Tons of of protesters gathered outdoors alongside the Las Vegas Strip Saturday as a part of nationwide “No Kings” protests.
Protestors mentioned their message is easy: nobody, not even a president, needs to be above the legislation or democracy itself.
“People are angry, people are upset, and I think this is the way to show them that, hey man this is not ok, it’s not ok to treat people this way, anybody this way,” protester Roger Ramirez mentioned.
Protesters carried handmade indicators and American flags as they made their approach down the Strip, voicing issues about the way forward for the nation and what they describe as an erosion of democratic values.
Many mentioned that for them the second feels pressing and that their march is a reminder that America’s energy lies in accountability and shared energy.
“We’re in our 70s and we are not sitting down for this. Congress needs to get their butts in gear, and the Supreme Court has been incredibly disappointing, and if they’re not going to do something, it’s up to us,” protester Barbara Caplan’Bennett mentioned.
Throughout city at Desert Breeze Park, a unique crowd gathered to have fun satisfaction, however politics weren’t removed from the dialog there both.
“Especially now, the ‘No Kings’ protests are so important because this country is going to continue to get divided from each other,” Pleasure festivalgoer Kalli Bottrall mentioned.
