Former head coach of Spartak Dmitry Alenichev shared his thoughts on whether Denis Glushakov, the former midfielder of the red-and-whites who recently retired, can become a good coach.

“He mentioned that he already has a coaching license A and plans to work with children. For instance, I started with amateur teams, gaining experience along the way, which eventually led to more serious offers. I worked in the First and Second leagues with Tula and then progressed to the Premier League. Glushakov should take a similar gradual approach. With all due respect to Denis, he doesn’t need to aim for coaching teams of Spartak’s level right away, like Sasha Mostovoy. There’s nothing shameful about starting in lower leagues or serving as an assistant to a head coach in a good team. I believe Denis understands all these aspects well. He should pass on his wealth of experience to the younger generation. I genuinely think he needs to pursue coaching rather than taking on a managerial role,” Alenichev stated, as reported by Legalbet.

Alenichev was the head coach of Spartak from 2015 to 2016, while Glushakov played for the club from 2013 to 2019.
