Punjab Kings’ opener Priyansh Arya hammered a scintillating century off just 39 balls against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Match 22 at Mullanpur on April 8. Arya’s knock not only guided Punjab to a daunting total of 219/6 but also made him the joint-fourth fastest centurion in IPL history, alongside Travis Head and only behind the legendary likes of Chris Gayle, Yusuf Pathan, and David Miller.

Before this outing, Arya was already gaining eyeballs in domestic circles. In the Delhi Premier League, Arya smashed six sixes in an over. Notably, this ton came even before his First-Class debut, making him only the second batter to achieve this feat after Paul Valthaty (2011), coincidentally, also for Punjab against CSK.
