With little time to prepare for Barcelona’s crucial La Liga clash against Real Betis, Hansi Flick has been testing different tactical options.
Following the team’s Copa del Rey semi-final victory, the German coach has less than 72 hours to fine-tune his squad for another must-win game at the top of the table.
As such, preparations were in full flow during today’s training session at the Ciutat Esportiva before the Catalans face Real Betis at Montjuic on Saturday.
Potential lineup
During the open training session for the media, Flick conducted a short-sided practice match with a potential starting lineup that he might use tomorrow, according to Mundo Deportivo.
In Flick’s trial lineup, 12 players participated, with two acting as floaters.
The defensive line comprised Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde as the full-backs on the right and left sides respectively.

Meanwhile, Eric Garcia seems likely to start at centre-back alongside Pau Cubarsi. Inigo Martinez suffered from a slight muscle overload against Atletico and might be rested, even though he trained normally today.
Pedri and Frenkie de Jong will line up as the two pivot midfielders while Flick tried both Raphinha and Fermin Lopez in the central attacking midfield position.
As for the attacking unit, Lamine Yamal was deployed on the right and Robert Lewandowski was the central striker, with Ferran Torres on the left.
While it provided some clues about his starting XI, it is not necessarily final. After all, Flick has previously adjusted his lineup after open training sessions. Players like Ronald Araujo and Gavi still have a chance to make the lineup.
Meanwhile, Andreas Christensen trained normally today and could make a return to the squad.
