Las Vegas – A gusty morning greeted residents with temperatures in the 60s and south winds reaching 20 mph under partly cloudy skies. Conditions turned windier through the afternoon, with southwest gusts topping 35 mph as highs settled in the upper 70s. The shift marks the prelude to a sharp warmup that could deliver the valley’s first triple-digit reading of 2026 before the week ends.

Winds picked up early, blending clouds and sun while pushing daytime highs into the upper 70s. Southwest gusts intensified to 30-35 mph during peak afternoon hours, creating challenging conditions for outdoor activities. As evening approached, sustained winds of 15-25 mph from the southwest persisted, with temperatures dropping back to the 60s after 9 p.m.

Overnight, conditions eased somewhat. Winds diminished to 5-15 mph after midnight, allowing lows to dip into the mid-50s by late night. The manageable breeze offered a brief respite before the heat builds.

Rapid Warmup Reshapes the Week’s Forecast

Tuesday brought milder winds and highs in the mid-70s, but the mercury rose quickly thereafter. Wednesday saw temperatures climb to the mid-80s, followed by low 90s on Thursday. Friday and the weekend promised upper 90s, with the potential for the first 100-degree day of the year materializing during this stretch.
