Former coach of Serena Williams and Tennis Hall of Fame member, Rick Macci, expressed his thoughts on the chances of six-time Grand Slam champion and world number two, Poland’s Iga Swiatek, reclaiming the top position in the rankings by the 2026 season.
“The Polish Hammer will rise to the number one spot because her mentality will become even more unyielding—like granite. By the end of May, if not sooner, she will be at the pinnacle, dominating all in her path, which will spell disaster for her competitors. The number one ranking is within reach, as the Hammer possesses both the character and the skills necessary to achieve it,” Macci shared on his social media account.
