President of the Russian Premier League (RPL) Alexander Alaev shared insights into the investments made by the league’s clubs in their football academies over the past five years.

“I engage in daily discussions with managers from various clubs, and I’m well aware that the operation of academies and the nurturing of homegrown talents remains a top priority for RPL teams. They are actively dedicating resources, time, and substantial funds to the development of young players.

This commitment has been ongoing for a considerable period, and in the last three years, particularly under the current limitation system, it has only intensified. Since 2022, the investment by RPL clubs in youth football has increased by nearly half – a remarkable 42 percent. Over the past five years, it has exceeded 21 billion rubles. This significant metric clearly demonstrates that football is not drifting aimlessly but is being actively invested in for future growth,” Alaev’s remarks were conveyed by Championship reporter Valentina Sivkovich.
