The town’s largest municipal employees union on Tuesday night time introduced its rating of endorsed Democratic candidates within the 2025 NYC Mayor’s race, placing Metropolis Council Speaker Adrienne Adams at primary — a major win for the speaker that would give her marketing campaign a much-needed increase.
The union, District Council 37 (DC 37), additionally ranked Queens Meeting Member Zohran Mamdani quantity two and Brooklyn state Sen. Zellnor Myrie third. The group is profiting from the town’s ranked-choice voting system by encouraging voters to rank the three candidates within the high spots on their ballots. DC 37 Government Director Henry Garrido mentioned the union, which encompasses 150,000 municipal employees and 89,000 retirees, will work to get out the vote for the three candidates.
