In a strategic move, Wales’ interim rugby coach Matt Sherratt has enlisted flyhalves Jarrod Evans and Gareth Anscombe, along with center Max Llewellyn, for the crucial Six Nations match against Ireland in Cardiff on February 22.

This decision comes in the wake of former coach Warren Gatland’s departure, following a disappointing string of 14 consecutive losses, the latest of which was against Italy. Gatland’s unexpected omission of Anscombe and Llewellyn has now been reversed by Sherratt, who will guide the team for the remainder of the championship but has dispelled any intentions of seeking the position permanently.

Adding to the team’s challenges, center Owen Watkin has been compelled to leave the squad due to a knee injury sustained in their 43-0 defeat to France, along with Liam Williams, who also injured his knee in the same match. These changes mark significant shifts in the Welsh lineup as they prepare to confront Ireland.
