Two men who went out for a drink after fatally stabbing their victim in Croydon, south London, have been found guilty of murder.

David Walcott, 35, and Rammon Mali, 33, were convicted during a five-week trial at the Old Bailey for the murder of 22-year-old Rijkaard Siafa in April of the previous year.

Walcott was also found guilty of possessing a knife or similar weapon.

The court was informed that the attackers pursued Mr. Siafa down an alleyway in front of a busy marketplace, where they inflicted at least 13 stab wounds. Police are still searching for a third suspect believed to be involved.

CCTV footage was presented to the jury, showing Walcott and Mali alongside a third individual as they navigated the streets prior to the assault.

The group was then seen entering a covered passage known as Fellmongers Yard, where they encountered their target, Mr. Siafa.

Prosecutor Anthony Orchard KC noted that Mr. Siafa “quickly turned and fled,” retracing his steps as the two defendants and their accomplice pursued him.

Just 20 seconds later, the trio was captured on camera exiting the yard amidst a gathering crowd in Surrey Street, where a fruit and vegetable market was taking place.

The jury was informed that Walcott appeared to be brandishing a knife during the incident.
