Advensus, a Dominican Republic-based business process outsourcing (BPO) operator, has expanded its operations into the Caribbean, establishing a presence in Trinidad and Tobago in pursuit of English-speaking talent.
With a significant investment of $6 million, Advensus has launched a delivery center in Chaguanas, a west-central town in Trinidad. The facility, spanning 4,000 square meters across three floors, has the capacity to accommodate 800 agents. The center boasts custom-designed workspaces, a cafeteria, and a games room for employee recreation.
Chaguanas, with a population of approximately 84,000, presents an open talent market for Advensus, as it is home to only two major BPO providers. The company plans to hire over 1,000 employees in the country within an 18-month period.
Founded in 2006, Advensus operates six delivery centers in Santo Domingo, providing a range of services including inbound and outbound call support, customer service, technical support, sales, lead generation, and collections in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese. Additionally, the company offers back-office support and self-service automation.
Advensus notes that Trinidad and Tobago boasts the lowest attrition rate among Caribbean countries with a significant BPO presence. Other international BPO companies with a presence in the country include iQor, Call Center Pros, Teleperformance, and Bill Gosling Outsourcing.
The government of Trinidad and Tobago is actively supporting BPO investments, offering a range of incentives including plug-and-play facilities, hiring support, and professional services such as legal and consulting assistance for BPO firms.
