It will be a home ground grand final rematch in round 1 of the 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific when the Blues host the Chiefs in Auckland next week.

The Blues will be looking to defend their turf while the Chiefs will be out to take their revenge and prove their point in Eden Park.

All Blacks fly half and Blues No. 10 Beauden Barrett says it is probably not the way they want to start off the season but hopefully they can pack out the park.

Barrett says while he did not play last year, he was really intrigued by the way Blues Coach Vern Cotter had changed things, especially their style of rugby.

With the Chiefs finishing as runners up two years in a row, prop Aidan Ross says their hopes are definitely high this year.

Meanwhile, Chiefs forward and All Blacks rookie Wallace Sititi, after having a breakout season last year, injury will see him missing most of this season but Ross says look out for former Brumbies flanker Jahrome Brown.

The Blues will take on the Chiefs next Saturday at 6.05pm.

Next Friday’s games will see the Crusaders hosting the Hurricanes at 6.05pm, the Waratahs playing the Highlanders at 8.35pm.

On Saturday the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua meet the Brumbies at 3.35pm, the Blues face the Chiefs at 6.05pm and the Force will take on Moana Pasifika at 8.35pm.

The Queensland Reds will be on a bye.
