Eligibility

1. The competition is open to all residents of the UK, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man aged 18 or over (unless otherwise stated), except BBC or BBC Group Company employees, their close relatives or anyone connected with the competition or the particular prize being offered.

2. BBC Radio Wales is running two rugby ticket competitions. The first is running from the 27th to the 31st January 2025 for a chance to win a pair of tickets to The 6 Nations match between Wales and Ireland at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff at 14:15 on Saturday 22nd February 2025. The second competition is running from 3rd to the 7th February 2025 for the chance to win a pair of tickets to The 6 Nations match between Wales and England at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff at 16:45 on Saturday 15th March 2025.

How to enter

3. Listeners will be invited to listen to BBC Radio Wales each day between 09:00 and 17:00 from 27th to 30th January 2025 and on 3rd to 6th February 2025 for a cue to enter (except when editorial requirements lead to a change in schedule or a change in programme content).

4. To register, listeners need to text the keyword RUGBY to 81012 to be in the draw for the first stage of the competition. Texts will be charged at your standard message rate. Check with your network provider for exact costs. Listeners will have approximately 15 minutes from the on-air cue to register (subject to editorial change so please listen carefully).

5. No other method of entry will be accepted. You can only enter once per mobile number per day. If you enter more than once each day or outside the entry window, your subsequent entries will not count but you will be charged. The opening and closing entry window may change, entrants must listen to be advised during the on-air announcements.

6. Each day, after the entry window has closed, 5 entrants will be selected at random and put to air in the order they were selected. To progress through to the next round of the competition, the entrant must answer a question related to the Six Nations correctly on-air within 5 seconds. If they get the question incorrect, they do not progress and then the next randomly selected entrant will be brought to air to answer a new question until there is one semi-finalist from each day (Monday – Thursday).

7. The 4 semi-finalists from that week will play again on the Friday between 09:00 and 12:00 (31st January and 7th February respectively) in two further rounds. Round 1 will consist of a ‘closest to’ question asked off air. The two entrants whose answers are closest to the correct answer will progress to the final.

8. The final round of the competition will involve to two entrants going head-to-head to answer three rugby related questions each. They will have 5 seconds to answer each question. The entrant with the most correct answers wins the prize. If there is a draw then there will be a tie-breaker question.

9. The BBC’s decision as to entrants and winners is final. No correspondence relating to the competition will be entered into.

10. The phone from which the text entry is sent in the registration process must be the entrant’s phone. The entrant must be entering on their own behalf. The BBC reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who did not register using their own phone, who answered a call to someone else’s phone or who has someone else answer their phone on their behalf. Further the BBC reserves the right to disqualify an entrant if it discovers the information provided in the text entry is incorrect. This may mean that a winner is disqualified for not providing the correct information for verification purposes, that prize will revert to the runner up.

11. Semi-finalists from the first competition are not permitted to enter the second competition. Semi-finalists from any day of competition are not permitted to enter on any subsequent day.

12. The selected entrants’ first name and general location will be disclosed on-air as part of the quiz.

The Prize

13. The prize for the first competition (27th to 31st January 2025) consists of:

2 (two) tickets for the 6 Nations match between Wales and Ireland at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff at 14:15 on Saturday 22nd February 2025; and
Hotel accommodation on Friday 21st February and Saturday 22nd February 2025.

14. The prize for the second competition (3rd to 7th February) consists of:

2 (two) tickets for the 6 Nations match between Wales and England at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff at 16:45 on Saturday 15th March 2025; and
Hotel accommodation on Friday 14th March and Saturday 15th March 2025.

15. For each competition prize, the BBC will provide standard class return train travel tickets for 2 people to Cardiff Central station from any train station within Wales on the day before matchday, returning the day after matchday. The BBC will provide two nights of accommodation at a pre-booked hotel (being one twin or double room) at the sole discretion of the BBC. For the avoidance of doubt, no other expenses will be provided.

16. The winner(s) will also be asked to confirm any accessibility requirements for themselves or their guest at the point at which they respond and claim their prize.

18. The BBC is not responsible for the content on third party websites.

19. The prizes are as stated above. The prize description may include additional requirements which alter the eligibility of that particular round of the competition, impose additional rules or restrictions specific to that prize. You must read the particular prize description carefully before entering. The particular prize may require collection or additional actions to be taken for fulfilment. The BBC is not responsible for winners failing to follow instructions. There will be no additional elements, fees or expenses covered (including but not limited to travel or accommodation) unless expressly stated in the particular prize description.

20. The BBC is not responsible for any element or change to the prizes or access to the prizes that are outside of its control such as travel disruptions.

21. If the winners and/or their guest (if applicable) have any health or accessibility requirements, these need to be disclosed to the BBC prior to prize fulfilment in order to make necessary adjustments for stadium access. In order to fully experience the prize that includes experiences or ticketed events, there may be some Health & Safety requirements imposed by BBC, the promoter or the venue. These will need to be followed prior to those elements being experienced. The winner and their guest (if applicable) must also comply with the health, safety and security policies at any venue associated with the prize.

22. The BBC will not be responsible for any failure by the winners and guests to gain entry or re-entry to the event due to the behaviour of the winners and guests or their failure to meet the admission requirements of the event. Ticket holders are responsible for checking admission requirements to the venue. The BBC will not be responsible for the suspension or cancellation of the event. The BBC will not provide an alternative or replacement prize. If the prize includes access to a sporting event, the winners, and guests (if applicable) must not be subject to any order banning them from attending such events.

23. The prizes are non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and are not redeemable for cash or other prizes.

General

25. The BBC is not responsible for the content on third party websites.

26. Entrants agree to participate in post-competition publicity if required.

27. The names and approximate location of winners will be made public.

28. The BBC reserves the right to: (i) amend these terms and conditions, including but not limited to, the competition opening and closing times and the programmes included; (ii) disqualify any entrant who breaches the rules or has acted fraudulently in any way or brings the BBC into disrepute; (iii) where applicable, disqualify an entrant or winner, withdraw or substitute any prize, should any entrant, winner or their guest at any stage exhibit inappropriate or dangerous behaviour (including, but not limited to being under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs or chemical substances or causing a nuisance) before or whilst on air, attending BBC premises or where the prize includes attendance to an event, exclusion from that event; (iv) impose any additional entry restrictions or requirements should the prize being offered require such restrictions or requirements (including but not limited to tickets for events with an age minimum or other entry requirements); and (v) cancel the competition, at any stage, if in its opinion it is deemed necessary or if circumstances arise outside its control.

29. The BBC, its sub-contractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction, nor for any other problem which may result in any entry not properly registered.

30. Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and to agree to be bound by them when registering.

31. To the extent permitted by law, the BBC will not be liable for any loss or damage (whether such damage or losses were foreseen, foreseeable, known or otherwise) including financial, reputational loss or disappointment.

33. The competition is run by the BBC. The applicable law is that of England and Wales.
