Los Angeles Fire Department chief Kristin Crowley says the Palisades Fire, to the west of downtown Los Angeles, is now at over 15,800 acres “and is growing”.
“It continues to demand significant local, regional, state and federal resources”.
She says there are 1,792 personnel currently working to battle it.
“This incident is very, very dynamic as we speak,” she says.
The Hurst Fire, to the north, is now at 700 acres, she adds, with 260 personnel assigned to the area.
Ms Crowley says the Woodley incident is now under control and has burned around 30 acres.
She adds the Eaton Fire, which is in Los Angeles County – so outside the city fire department’s zone – is being “closely monitored”.
“If it does come into the city, we are ready.”
