Pedro Caixinha might not have much of a legacy to reflect on at Rangers, but Alfredo Morelos is probably his biggest.
Whilst it was Finnish ex-Rangers striker Jonaton Johansson that tipped Pedro Caixinha off to the former HJK Helsinki, it was the Portuguese manager that hauled El Bufalo to Ibrox.
Alfredo Morelos would go on to become Rangers’ all-time top European goalscorer (29) and leave an indelible mark at the club, even if the Colombian never reached his full potential.
Now back plying his trade in South America, in a remarkable twist of fate Alfredo Morelos could be reunited with former Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha in Brazil.

That’s because Pedro Caixinha is set to be appointed the head coach of legendary Brazilian club Santos.
According to Fabrizio Romano, a deal has already been struck between Santos and Caixinha, with Pedro Martins to become the Brazilian club’s new CEO.

Pedro Caixinha joins Santos after being sacked from his role in charge of Red Bull owned RB Bragatino in the Brazilian top flight.
It’s also Caixinha’s 11th top job in management following stints in Portugal, Qatar, Scotland, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Argentina and now Brazil.
Alfredo Morelos celebrating in Colombia
Alfredo Morelos is celebrating after scoring to help his current club Atletico Nacional win the Colombian championship.
Morelos, 28, opened the scoring for the green and white outfit before teammate Andres Felipe Roman scored again in the first half to crowns Nacional champions.
But the Colombian striker is only on loan at Atletico Nacional from, you guessed it, Santos in Brazil.
With the contract of Alfredo Morelos set to expire in the summer, the Colombian striker’s future is very much up in the air.
But with the man who brought him to Rangers now the manager of Santos, one wonders if Pedro Caixinha is about to have a sit down heart to heart with Alfredo Morelos in Sao Paolo.
It worked at Rangers, maybe it can also work in Brazil.
