Planning is underway to mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
A national logo to celebrate the semiquincentennial in 2026, has already been unveiled, but Arizona will have its own unique design to reflect the state’s contributions.
A statewide competition launched in September has been narrowed down to ten finalists. You can see all the logos and vote for your favorite at azsos.gov/about/az250-logo.
In announcing the contest, the Secretary of State’s Office said, “The America250 Arizona Commission is looking for a design that illuminates Arizona’s untamed spirit of independence. The winner’s design will be used as the official Arizona America250 logo for events, merchandising, and branding.”
The U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission is inviting students to submit artwork and essays answering the question, “What does America mean to you?” for a chance to receive unique experiences at American historical and cultural sites. Deadline is April 2025. More information on the contest at america250.org/fieldtrip/application/.
The U.S. Commission is also accepting nominations for unsung heroes at america250.org/nominate/.
