Nenagh Ormond Park will host Munster ‘A’ v Ulster ‘A’ in the third round of the IRFU 150 Interprovincial ‘A’ Championship this Friday at 3.00pm.

The competition began on November 16th last with Leinster getting the better of Connacht, with the round 2 fixtures taking place last weekend with Connacht getting their first win over Ulster, while Leinster made it two wins from two with a 22-7 win over Munster at Terenure College.

The Munster team that started the game was strong with Loughmore native Brian Gleeson getting a start in the back row, while Paddy Patterson and Tom Ahern also started.

However, with Munster’s first team resuming URC action against the Lions at Thomond Park this Saturday night, the squad they send to Nenagh is likely to be much changed with the team that lined out against Leinster as follows: Ben O’Connor; Gordon Wood, Gene O’Leary-Kareem, Eoghan Smyth, Shay McCarthy; Tony Butler, Paddy Patterson; George Hadden, Eoghan Clarke, Ronan Foxe; Tom Ahern, Evan O’Connell (Capt). Jack Daly, Ruadhán Quinn, Brian Gleeson. Reps used: Conor Ryan for Ahern; Scott Buckley for Clarke, Conor Bartley for Hadden, Emmet Calvey for Foxe, Sean Edogbo for Quinn; Oisín Pepper for McCarthy; Jack Oliver for Patterson, Dylan Hicks for Butler.

New Ormond Park has regularly held Munster ‘A’ games over the years, including a game against Ulster Ravens in 2010 which included players such as a young Simon Zebo and Conor Murray for Munster.

In 2009, the venue also hosted a British & Irish Cup game against Bristol a match that also saw current players Peter O’Mahony, Stephen Archer and Dave Kilcoyne feature, as well as future England and Lions great Mako Vunipola, so it is likely this latest ‘A’ game in Nenagh will provide stars of the future for both Munster and Ulster.
