This financial support comes under the provisions of the PA Racehorse Development and Gaming Act, which guides gaming revenue distribution through the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) for public interest projects across Pennsylvania.
Diverse Project Allocations
The following are highlights of the funded initiatives:
Douglass Township: Received $527,854 to procure new municipal equipment including a leaf vacuum and a dual-axel truck chassis.Lower Salford Township: Secured $244,000 for streambank rehabilitation along 180 feet of Skippack Creek near Mainland Treatment Plant, focusing on erosion control installations and landscaping with native species.Upper Pottsgrove Township: Awarded $71,891 for acquiring enhanced police equipment which includes a new SUV to replace an aging vehicle that has served for 14 years.Douglass (Montgomery) Township: Granted $278,558 to purchase an asphalt paver aimed at improving road conditions and maintaining public trails effectively.Lower Frederick Township: Received funding amounting to $400,000 designated for their Fire Company towards purchasing a replacement firetruck dating back to 1999.Township Generator Installation:$350,000 earmarked for installing a backup generator at Boyertown’s wastewater treatment facility in Douglass Township to ensure continuous operation during power failures.Sewer System Upgrades in Lower Salford Township:$650,000 allocated for restoring sewer infrastructure along Manor and Alderfer Roads by replacing approximately 2,600 linear feet of sewer mains as well as necessary lateral connections while adhering to erosion control measures.Acknowledgment of Local Impact
