SALISBURY – The⁣ Catawba College Athletic Department celebrated the induction of twelve exceptional individuals into its Sports Hall of Fame during a festive ceremony ‌held on Saturday, November 9th at Keppel Auditorium. This year’s distinguished group​ includes McKenzie Burman‌ Zinani ’07 (women’s soccer), Brian ⁢Graves ’07 and Antonio Houston ’10 (men’s basketball), Craige Lyerly ’10 (baseball), Allie Marshall Lyerly ’10 (softball), ⁤Todd McComb ’03 and‌ Rodney Wallace ’05 (football), Marty Tuohy ’11 (men’s lacrosse), and Ryan Willis ’06 (men’s ⁤cross country). Additionally, Dr. Karl Hales, Bill Hall ’66, and Bob Setzer ’73 received honorary Service Awards.

Regarded as ‍one of the standout offensive talents in Catawba women’s soccer history, McKenzie Burman made⁢ her mark in‍ her sophomore season by equaling a long-standing record set by Catawba great Catey Conner with 17 goals. She ⁢eclipsed this‌ feat during her junior year with an impressive tally of 23 goals along with earning NSCAA First Team All-American honors and being named the SAC Player of the Year in 2005. That year saw Burman lead ‍her team to an unbeaten conference run and secure a win against top-ranked Tusculum in the NCAA Tournament’s opening round. ‌She currently sits second overall in program history for career goals at 53 and has amassed a total of 124 points throughout her​ collegiate career.
