Gavi’s return to action for Barcelona was beyond special for not only the dressing room but for the management and fans and the joy was palpable across Catalonia the day he made his first appearance post-injury against Sevilla.
Since then, the youngster once again featured off the bench against Bayern Munich and is expected to start on the bench for El Clasico as well.
After all, Hansi Flick prefers to exert caution over his reintroduction to action and will gradually up the ante with his participation so as to give the player confidence and his body time to return to match rhythm.
RFEF are impatient
While Barcelona have charted out a neat chart for Gavi’s slow phasing in and conservative return to football, the Spanish national team are once again impatient over his situation.
As revealed in a recent update via Alfredo Matilla, the Spanish federation wants the Barcelona phenom to be back in the national team dynamics as soon as possible.
