Match Preview
The Republic of Ireland will hope to build on Thursday’s encouraging 2-1 win in Finland when they take on Greece on Sunday.
Robbie Brady’s late strike in Helsinki gave Heimir Hallgrímsson his first win in charge after a difficult start and they will head to Athens in a positive frame of mind.
They could find it difficult, however, when they face a Greece side not only inspired by their win against England but also playing to honour the memory of George Baldock.
Greece full-back Baldock drowned in his swimming pool last week, prompting an outpouring of emotion after their win at Wembley.
Ivan Jovanovic’s side ought to have beaten England by more than a 2-1 scoreline and they are the favourites to maintain their place at the top of the group with another victory.
