The boys’ competition saw Coeur d’Alene tied for fourth place with​ a combined score of 319—21 strokes behind Boise’s leading total of​ 298. ‍According ‍to Post Falls boys golf coach Chase ⁤Bennett: “We anticipated tight contests among multiple teams today; there are competitors just behind us along with some ahead.” He acknowledged Boise’s outstanding performance stating it would‍ be tough to overtake them due to​ their ⁣stellar play.

A notable individual performance ​came from​ freshman Ben Focke who ranks tied ​for tenth after shooting a‍ solid score of 76 today. Bennett pointed ⁢out: “We landed numerous shots on ⁣the green throughout⁢ the ‍day—the team⁣ excelling in short game skills could very well end up victorious.”

Highlighting Lakeland’s Tyler Zachary in Burley Tournament

In Burley at River’s Edge⁤ Golf Club during the state 5A tournament, sophomore Tyler Zachary captivated spectators by carding a remarkable score of 3-under ‍par (70), placing ⁢him⁣ third after Day one action.

Lakeland‌ coach Colleen Hall praised⁢ Zachary’s gameplay; “His ability to recover and save pars was exceptional,” she remarked about his eagle‍ on the challenging par-5 hole number eleven.⁢ “He had an impressive outing overall.” Leading competitors included Will Comstock from Bishop⁤ Kelly ⁣whose phenomenal round‍ brought him‍ down to just nine unders (63).

Bishop Kelly also topped both boys’ and girls’ ‍tournaments so far: leading ⁤with team ‍scores of‍ (287) and (314) respectively while riding high ⁣on ⁤previous victories within these championships.

The Sandpoint schoolgirls are holding steady in third place led by Taylor ⁢Mire who stands tied for third individually thanks to her strong showing reflected by a total shot count sitting at sixty-three.
