EasyJet is to launch a new route between Liverpool and Malta as part of its expansion of services from the Mediterranean island nation.
The budget carrier will start Liverpool-Malta flights on 10 December with two flights per week on Tuesday and Sunday. Services will operate on a year-round basis and go on sale on 11 June.
EasyJet has also recently launched new services from Malta to Bristol, Amsterdam, Basel and Nice, as the airline expands its flying programme from Malta by around 30 per cent in 2024 compared with last year.
The airline has also agreed a deal to acquire the SR Technics maintenance facility in Malta, which will be used to service its fleet of more than 330 aircraft.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s Malta country manager, said: “We have long held links with Malta and look forward to further strengthening these in the coming years, not least through the acquisition of a maintenance hangar where we will maintain our fleet of aircraft.”
