Match Preview

Barcelona will hope to bounce back from losing their 100 per cent in La Liga when they host Young Boys in the Champions League tomorrow night.

Hansi Flick’s side went into Saturday’s game with Osasuna having won their first seven games of the league season but were stunningly beaten 4-2 in Pamplona.

A home game with Young Boys looks straightforward enough, at least on paper, with Barca looking to claim their first points in Europe’s elite club competition in 2024-25 after a 2-1 defeat at Monaco a fortnight ago, a game in which they had defender Eric Garcia sent off after just 10 minutes.

Young Boys are not in great form and sit second from bottom in the Swiss Super League after losing 1-0 at home to Grasshoppers at the weekend.

Their Champions League opener also ended in defeat as Aston Villa won 3-0 in Bern.
